Featured on 6sqft: Six-Acre Private Island in Connecticut
Our photography of Copps Island, a nearly six-acre private island off Norwalk, Connecticut, was picked up by 6sqft, a popular New York real estate and architecture publication.
The Property
Copps Island is something truly special. A 2,620-square-foot cottage sits on the island’s highest point, offering Long Island Sound views from every room. Built in 1961, the three-bedroom, two-bath home features cathedral ceilings in the master suite, floor-to-ceiling windows, and hardwood flooring throughout. There’s also a 1,000-square-foot screened porch that wraps the home in coastal living.
Access to the island is only by boat from Cove Marina in East Norwalk, about 50 miles from Manhattan. Listed at $2.5 million through Sotheby’s International Realty.
Photographing an Island
Shooting a property like this is completely different from a standard home. We relied heavily on drone photography to capture the island’s scale, its position in the Sound, and the relationship between the cottage and the landscape. Interior shots focused on the natural light flooding through those floor-to-ceiling windows and the sense of seclusion you feel the moment you step inside.
